Pixel & Paper is the graphic novel imprint of The Little Press, an independent children’s publisher based in New Jersey and built on the belief that storytelling evolves—and publishing should evolve with it.

Graphic novels aren’t a trend. They’re a cornerstone of modern children’s publishing and one of the most powerful tools we have for building confident, capable readers. Pixel & Paper was created to champion graphic novels for early readers through middle grade—books that meet kids where they are, pull them into story through art and text, and keep them turning pages.

We publish visually rich, thoughtfully crafted graphic novels that support literacy, invite reluctant readers in, and affirm that reading counts in all its forms.

 From classrooms and libraries to bedtime reading, our books are designed to engage young readers, support educators, and elevate creators who understand the magic that happens when pixels meet paper.

At Pixel & Paper, we take a creator-first approach to graphic novel publishing. We work directly with authors, illustrators, artists, graphic novelists, and colorists—collaborating closely at every stage of the process to bring compelling visual stories to life.

Our program is intentionally curated. We plan to publish one graphic novel per year, allowing us to give each project focused editorial attention, thoughtful production, and meaningful support. We acquire projects across the full creative spectrum—from manuscripts in early development to fully illustrated, market-ready graphic novels—meeting creators where they are and guiding each book toward its strongest possible form.

Whether a story begins as words on a page or arrives as finished panels ready for print, our goal is the same: to create high-quality graphic novels designed for young readers and the eager hands that reach for them. Each title is developed with care for story, art, pacing, and age-appropriate engagement—ensuring our books are as accessible as they are memorable.
